How to update the status of a Project

Opening, Closing, and Canceling Projects

An Overview of Project Statuses

  1. Queued - the default status when the project file has been created
  2. Open - when an actual start date is added to a task within the project, the project status automatically turns to "Open"
  3. Closed - when all tasks and subtasks are completed, the project will automatically turn to "Closed"
  4. Canceled - applied when a contract is nullified. 

How to update Project Statuses

  • When users create a project, by default, the project status will be "Queued". 
  • From here, adding an "Actual Start" date to a task will automatically "Open" the project.
  • To close a project:
    • Close all of the tasks and subtasks as you work through the course of the project.
    • Force Close the Project. Within the project, click the action button and choose "Close Project".
    • To cancel the project, go to the same Action button and choose "Cancel Project":
