How to delete a project in Poologics

Delete a Project:

Deleting a project in Poologics Software is a straightforward process, but it requires careful consideration, especially if the project contains open tasks or scheduled activities. This guide outlines the steps to delete a project based on its status within the software.

Steps to follow:

  1. Log in to Poologics Software: Access your Poologics account using your credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Project Management Section: Once logged in, navigate to the Project Management section where all your projects are listed.

  3. Identify the Status of the Project: Determine whether the project you want to delete is in a "Queue" status or an "Open" status.

  4. Deleting a Project in Queue Status:

    • Queued status indicates that no tasks have been started yet, signifying that the project hasn't commenced. However, projects in Queue status may still contain open tasks.
    • To delete a project, ensure that all open tasks associated with it are closed or completed. Or the user can use the forcing function on the Action menu.
    • Review the tasks listed under the project and close or complete any open tasks.
    • Once all tasks are closed, return to the project list.
    • Select the project you wish to delete.
    • Click on the "Action" button and choose "Delete" from the dropdown menu.

  1. Deleting a Project in Open Status:

    • If the project is in an Open status, it indicates that there are scheduled activities on the calendar.
    • Before deleting the project, ensure that all scheduled activities are removed from the calendar.
    • Navigate to the project and review the scheduled activities listed under it.
    • Remove or reschedule all activities associated with the project to clear the calendar.
    • Once the calendar is clear of any scheduled activities, return to the project list.
    • Select the project you wish to delete.
    • Click on the "Action" button and choose "Delete" from the dropdown menu.
  2. Archiving a Project as an Alternative:

    • If deleting a project with scheduled activities is not desirable, consider archiving it instead.
    • To archive a project, select the project from the list.
    • Click on the "Action" button and choose "Archive" from the options.
    • Archiving a project removes it from the active project list without permanently deleting it, allowing you to retrieve it later if needed.
  3. Confirmation:

    • After selecting "Delete" or "Archive," the software may prompt you to confirm the action.
    • Confirm the deletion or archiving process to finalize your decision.
  4. Verification:

    • Once the project has been deleted or archived, verify that it no longer appears in the active project list.
  5. Additional Considerations:

    • Deleting a project is irreversible, so ensure that you have completed all necessary actions before proceeding.
    • Archived projects can usually be accessed through a separate archive section within the software, allowing for retrieval if required in the future.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage and delete projects in Poologics Software, ensuring your project list remains organized and up to date.
